In 1987, Rick Cole and his wife Deborah started producing corrugated partitions in their garage along with their four children. They began by fulfilling a small number of orders for a former employer. However, thanks to Rick's sales efforts, other packaging companies were willing to provide the Cole family with an opportunity for growth. This resulted in the Cole family recognizing the potential in the niche corrugated partition market, ultimately leading to the founding of Colepak, Inc.

The family's unwavering commitment to quality products, from design to production and on-time delivery, resulted in substantial growth. By the early 1990s, Colepak found it necessary to relocate to a larger building in Urbana, Ohio, and began hiring its first employees.

In 1994, the family relocated the company once again, this time to an industrial park, where they built a new 12,000 sq.ft. building to accommodate their continued sales growth. Simultaneously, sons Jason and Ryan joined the management team to facilitate the addition of chipboard partitions to the product line. A few years later, the youngest son, Adam, also made the decision to join the family business. This second generation of Coles has continued to play a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and success that Colepak has experienced for almost forty years. Colepak's future shines brightly as the third generation of the Cole family carries on this tradition.

At present, Colepak stands as a leading manufacturer of paper partitions in North America, serving the glass container, automotive, pharmaceutical, and other packaging industries. Colepak currently operates from a 300,000 sq.ft. facility in Urbana, OH, and it also functions through its sister company, Fortress Packaging, located in Fairfield, CA.
